What a New Roof Means for a Newcastle Home
Newcastle weather is the real test for any roof. Driving rain off the coast and freeze-thaw winters crack tiles and loosen mortar faster than in milder parts of the country. On older terraces the rafters can be undersized for modern tile weights, so we check the timbers before we recommend a covering. Breathable membrane has replaced old bitumen felt and makes a big difference to ventilation in these tighter loft spaces.
Over 20 years Phil has re-roofed everything from back-to-back terraces in the city to detached homes in the suburbs. He treats every roof like it is his own, and he is on site to make sure the work is done properly.

Common questions
Questions about New Roofs in Newcastle
Answers to the questions we are asked most.
How much does a new roof cost in Newcastle?
A typical terraced roof runs from around 4,500 to 7,000 depending on size and materials. Larger semis and detached homes can sit between 7,000 and 12,000. We give a fixed price after seeing the property, no surprises.
Do you charge a call-out fee for new roof quotes in Newcastle?
No call-out fee. Phil comes out, takes a proper look and gives you a free quote.
Do I need planning permission for a new roof in Newcastle?
A straight like-for-like replacement usually falls under permitted development, so no permission needed. If your property is listed or in a conservation area, such as parts of Jesmond, there may be conditions. We will tell you where you stand before any work starts.
How long does a new roof take to fit?
Most terraced and semi roofs take three to five days depending on weather and access. Larger or more complex roofs can run a little longer.
Are your new roofs guaranteed?
Yes. Our workmanship is guaranteed and we use materials from established manufacturers that carry their own warranties. Phil only fits products he trusts on his own work.
Which areas near Newcastle do you cover for new roofs?
We work right across Newcastle and the wider North East, including Gosforth, Heaton, Jesmond, Gateshead and Wallsend. If you are nearby and not sure, give us a ring and we will let you know.
