Why EPDM Suits Newcastle Flat Roofs
Newcastle gets a lot of rain and EPDM handles standing water better than most flat roofing materials. It is cold-applied too, so there is no open flame near eaves or timber during installation. We always check the deck is sound before we start and we plan every job around the weather rather than rushing to get it done. EPDM fitted properly can last 30 years or more.
Phil personally oversees every deck prep and bonding stage on EPDM jobs. EPDM is unforgiving of poor preparation so Phil is on site from start to finish, every time. We fit EPDM on everything from kitchen extensions to dormer flat roofs right across the region.

Common questions
Questions about EPDM Rubber Roofs in Newcastle
Answers to the questions we are asked most.
How much does an EPDM rubber roof cost in Newcastle?
EPDM rubber roofing typically runs between £80 and £110 per square metre, with most extension or garage roofs coming in at £1,500 to £3,000. We price each job after seeing it in person.
Do you charge a call-out fee for EPDM rubber roof quotes in Newcastle?
No call-out fee and no charge for your quote.
Can you fit EPDM over my existing flat roof?
Only if the deck is completely sound and dry. We usually replace old deck boards so the EPDM bonds properly and we will always tell you straight what your roof needs before we start.
How long does an EPDM rubber roof take to install?
Most domestic flat roofs take just one to two days to complete. EPDM is cold-applied, so there is no curing wait and your roof is protected right away.
Is your EPDM work guaranteed?
Yes, every installation comes with manufacturer backing on the membrane itself. Emperor Roofing NE only uses trade-grade systems built to handle the tough North East weather.
Which areas near Newcastle do you cover for EPDM rubber roofs?
We cover Newcastle and the surrounding North East area. That includes Gosforth, Wallsend, Gateshead, Whitley Bay, Jesmond and beyond, so get in touch to check your postcode.
